Tool #1

Setting up a blog is simple...now, keeping up with it is another story...
In the classroom, I could use it to communicate with students and parents about school content...but also, as a way to share ideas with other teachers...A more focused and professional social networking...per se....

  1. sharing is a big part of a successful blogging experience...yes, the keeping up with it can be a problem, but gets easier the more community you have sharing.

  2. Blogging would be a good way to communicate with parents and students. I know a PreK teacher that has does that and it's worked pretty well. :)
Would be interesting to have the students blog also.

  4. Love the Voki. Could you get her to speak slower so that we can understand?? LOL! I totally agree with keeping up with it being the hardest part. If parents were active in it, I think that would be motivating to keep it going. Some of our parents just don't have the means to follow it or would need it translated. As for using it with teachers, the same applies. If people are commenting and you aren't in it alone, I think I would be more motivated to keep posting. It would be hard to spend the effort if you think you are wasting time and energy.

  5. Just reluctantly got started, but like the idea that we can put our homework assignments, field trip info, notes about special events on our blogs.

  6. I agree with you, keeping up with a blog is kind of hard, even when you have great ideas on how to implement it in your classroom. However, I am willing to try and will be following up with you to see how you hold up. GOOD LUCK!!

  7. I agree that it might be difficult to keep up with the blog. I remember thinking last summer when we first created our blog for team leaders that we would all keep up with it. We just have to realize that it is a powerful way to communicate with each other and discuss topics that are of interest.
